Why Willow Alexander

A tradesman worth keeping the number of.

The same considered approach you'd expect from any service that carries the House of Willow Alexander name.

One visit, not three

Every van carries the full kit, so the shelf, the sticking door and the dripping tap get sorted in the same appointment instead of three separate call-outs.

A price before we start

You get a clear figure for the work, agreed up front. No hourly meter running, no invoice that arrives bigger than the conversation.

Vetted, trained tradesmen

Every handyman is DBS-checked, reference-verified and uniformed. You'll know exactly who is coming to the door and when.

We turn up when we say

Confirmed arrival windows and an on-time guarantee. If we're running late you hear it from us first, not from an empty doorstep.

London & Kent, properly understood

Period townhouses, mansion flats, new-builds and lettings. Lath and plaster, solid brick or plasterboard, we know what's behind the wall before we drill.

One name, whole property

House of Willow Alexander brings handyman, garden, exterior and interior care under one trusted account.

The process

Straightforward, from first enquiry onwards.

Tell us the job

Postcode, property type, and what needs doing. A photo helps. The form takes a minute.

A fixed price back

We read every enquiry and reply personally with a clear price and a realistic idea of how long it will take.

Book your slot

A morning or afternoon window that suits you. Single jobs, a full day's list, or a standing maintenance visit.

Done and cleared up

The work finished properly, the mess taken away, and nothing left for you to tidy.

Where we work

Familiar streets across London & Kent.

From SW3 townhouses to the commuter belt and Kent's lanes. The homes that recognise our vans.

Replaced my shower curtain and rail with a glass screen, easy to book and cleared up after the job was finished. Would use again for other bits that are outside of my DIY capabilities.

Craig Clipper

What a lovely man! Thank you for coming to fix my skirting boards and with a smile. I'll be using Willow Alexander again and just saw they clean windows too!

Sustainability

Work that lasts. A lighter footprint.

A fully electric fleet, battery tools, and a bias toward repairing rather than replacing. The longest-lasting fix is nearly always the lowest-carbon one.

A fully electric fleet

Every van on every route, London to Kent, runs on battery. Quiet on residential streets, zero tailpipe emissions, and no diesel idling outside your house.

Battery-powered tools

Cordless throughout. No two-stroke, no generators, no fumes in the room we're working in and considerably less noise for your neighbours.

Repair before replace

A dropped hinge reset costs less and wastes less than a new door. We fix what can be fixed and say so when something genuinely needs replacing.

Waste taken and sorted

Packaging, offcuts and old fittings go with us and get separated for recycling rather than left in your bin or taken straight to landfill.

Questions

Things people often ask.

How much does a handyman cost?
We price the job, not the hour, so you know the figure before we start. Send over what needs doing (a photo helps) and we'll come back with a fixed price. If it's a list of small jobs, a half-day or full-day rate is usually better value than pricing each one separately, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
Can you do several jobs in one visit?
That's what we'd rather you did. Every van carries the full kit, so the shelf, the sticking door, the dripping tap and the flat-pack wardrobe can all be handled in the same appointment. Send us the whole list and we'll tell you honestly what fits in a half day or a full day.
Are your handymen vetted and insured?
Yes. Every handyman is DBS-checked and reference-verified before they work in a client's home, and every visit carries full public liability and accidental-damage cover. Certificates are available on request.
Do you supply the materials?
We carry the consumables — fixings, wall plugs, screws, sealant, filler and the like — as part of the job. For anything specified (a particular paint, a replacement lock, a TV bracket, fence panels) you can buy it yourself, or we'll source it and pass the cost on at what we paid, itemised on the quote.
What can't you do?
Anything that legally needs a registered trade. We don't carry out notifiable electrical work, gas work or structural alterations. We'll say so upfront rather than take the booking, and where we can we'll point you to someone who can. Fixtures, fittings, repairs and installations are all fine.
Do I need to be home?
For most jobs it helps to be there at the start so we can agree exactly what you want. After that you're welcome to leave us to it. Regular clients often key-hold with us, with access and alarm codes handled under a proper protocol.
Do you work for landlords and letting agents?
Yes, and a good share of our work is exactly that. Between-tenancy repairs, reactive call-outs and standing maintenance visits across a portfolio, with consolidated invoicing and direct tenant liaison where you want it. See the landlords and commercial page.
How quickly can you come out?
Most non-urgent jobs are booked within a few working days, and we hold slots back each week for emergency call-outs — a failed lock, a leak, a door that won't shut. Call the office and we'll tell you honestly what's free rather than promise a slot we can't keep.
