How much does a handyman cost?
We price the job, not the hour, so you know the figure before we start. Send over what needs doing (a photo helps) and we'll come back with a fixed price. If it's a list of small jobs, a half-day or full-day rate is usually better value than pricing each one separately, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
Can you do several jobs in one visit?
That's what we'd rather you did. Every van carries the full kit, so the shelf, the sticking door, the dripping tap and the flat-pack wardrobe can all be handled in the same appointment. Send us the whole list and we'll tell you honestly what fits in a half day or a full day.
Are your handymen vetted and insured?
Yes. Every handyman is DBS-checked and reference-verified before they work in a client's home, and every visit carries full public liability and accidental-damage cover. Certificates are available on request.
Do you supply the materials?
We carry the consumables — fixings, wall plugs, screws, sealant, filler and the like — as part of the job. For anything specified (a particular paint, a replacement lock, a TV bracket, fence panels) you can buy it yourself, or we'll source it and pass the cost on at what we paid, itemised on the quote.
What can't you do?
Anything that legally needs a registered trade. We don't carry out notifiable electrical work, gas work or structural alterations. We'll say so upfront rather than take the booking, and where we can we'll point you to someone who can. Fixtures, fittings, repairs and installations are all fine.
Do I need to be home?
For most jobs it helps to be there at the start so we can agree exactly what you want. After that you're welcome to leave us to it. Regular clients often key-hold with us, with access and alarm codes handled under a proper protocol.
Do you work for landlords and letting agents?
Yes, and a good share of our work is exactly that. Between-tenancy repairs, reactive call-outs and standing maintenance visits across a portfolio, with consolidated invoicing and direct tenant liaison where you want it. See the landlords and commercial page.
How quickly can you come out?
Most non-urgent jobs are booked within a few working days, and we hold slots back each week for emergency call-outs — a failed lock, a leak, a door that won't shut. Call the office and we'll tell you honestly what's free rather than promise a slot we can't keep.
